How to Make

INGREDIENTS

Cheese Ball:

  • 2 (8-oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Smith's French Onion Dip
  • 1/2 cup Smith's Small Curd Cottage Cheese, well drained
  • 1/4 cup Smith's Old Fashioned Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbsp grated aged Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 5 slices hickory smoked bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1 medium jalapeno, seeded and very finely minced
  • 1/4 cup finely snipped green onions, green parts only

Topping:

  • 5 slices hickory smoked bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 1 medium jalapeno, seeded and finely minced
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

  1. For cheese ball, place first seven ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Beat on low speed until smooth.
  2. Stir in cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, jalapeno and green onions. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
  3. Use hands to shape into a ball. For topping, stir bacon, jalapeno, cranberries and pecans together in a medium bowl.
  4. Spread topping mixture into a 6” circle on a sheet of wax paper.
  5. Place cheese ball on center of circle. Roll around in topping until evenly coated, pressing mixture into cheese ball, as needed.
  6. Place on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Chill for 1 hour or until serving time.
  7. Serve with your favorite crackers.
